JSPL sees domestic steel production rise 38% yoy in Q4

The company achieved its highest-ever monthly production rate due to ramp up of the Angul plant. Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) achieved its highest-ever, domestic, quarterly steel production of 1.26mn tonnes in Q4FY18. The growth was on the back of the recent completion of its Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) at Angul. The company also achieved sales of 1.18mn tonnes during the quarter ended March. The management is positive that it would be able to sustain production at this level for FY19, which would lead to a capacity utilization of ~85%.
